802.11n is a pre-standard wi-fi technology that used to only be for home or home office use but has recently moved into the enterprise. The introduction os 802.11n into the enterprise means means greater throughput for applications such as Wireless VOIP, IPTV, Video Surveillance, etc. 802.11n Wifi access points can have sustained throughput of 80-225 Mbps depending on environmental conditions and the size of the channel. While still pre-standard 802.11n is rapidly becoming a viable option to traditional Wi-Fi and most are seeing quite stable operation with popular 802.11n client devices.
