The M7016 is a great tool to quickly migrate from an older analog CCTV system to IP. Why wouldn't I just replace my current CCTV cameras with new IP cameras? We have seen several different reasons come up with our clients.
1) Recent investment in the analog cameras but the video management system or DVR is currently not providing the functionality or user experience that the security operators need.
2) The existing coax cable is difficult or cost prohibitive to replace
3) The surveillance budget does not support replacing all cameras to new high-definition cameras (although they are becoming more affordable) but again the VMS just needs to be replaced.
Installing one M7016 will quickly allow for the transition off of the inflexible DVR to a more usable and feature rich VMS, like Milestone for instance. To make the transition even more affordable some VMS platforms, like Milestone again, only charge licensing per IP address and even though the M7016 has 16 channels it only has 1 IP addresses. Saving you ~90% on licensing.
