Broadband over Power Line

Broadband over Powerline enables service providers, building owners and businesses to transform a building’s internal electrical system into a powerful communications network. Motorola has an innovative broadband solution that combines market-leading Canopy Access Points and with their Powerline MU Gateway and Powerline Modems. By injecting a braodband signal directly into the electrical lines, subscribers simply plug their computer or router into the Powerline Modem that plugs in to an every-day power socket. Since the Gateway is located in the building’s electrical distribution area, coordination with the electric utility is not typically needed but installation should be done by a licensing electrician.
