Operating in the 4.9 GHz licensed band, the Motorola Fixed PTP 49600 Wireless Ethernet Bridges give public safety officials high-throughput, super-reliable, secure wireless broadband connectivity for data, voice and video communications in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) and line-of-sight (LOS) environments.

Features of the Motorola PTP 49600 Wireless Bridge

  • Provides up to 99.999% availability even in challenging conditions
  • Up to 125 Mbps throughput to carry high-bandwidth data, voice and video
  • Typical latency as low as 2 ms or less (one way)
  • Up to two T1/E1 ports to support wayside T1/E1 links
  • Enables wireless communications over distances up to 124 miles (200 km)
  • Reliable connectivity in NLOS and long-distance LOS environments, over water and open terrain
  • Pre-configured links for fast deployment typically within one or two days
  • Easy installation with audio and graphical assistance features
  • Flexible system management using SNMP or Motorola Canopy Prizm
  • Robust security with proprietary over-the-air scrambling and optional FIPS-197 compliant 128-bit and 256-bit AES encryption

With a PTP 49600 bridge you can

  • Cost-effectively backhaul traffic from ASTRO systems, video surveillance cameras, Motorola Mesh nodes, 4.9 GHz hot spots and command centers and Canopy point-to-multipoint systems
  • Supply connectivity for timely, uninterrupted Internet and database access
  • Extend video surveillance beyond the confines of a wired network
  • Enable communications among police, fire and sheriff departments, emergency medical services and other public safety agencies even inpreviously inaccessible locations
  • Replace leased lines to reduce operating costs or improve performance on poorly performing lines
  • Rapidly deploy connectivity for disaster recovery, emergency services and special events
  • Integrate with ASTRO networks to:
    • Enable secondary links affordably
    • Install a high-bandwidth IP network overlay underneath existing 6 GHz licensed microwave links
    • Backhaul traffic where ASTRO infill is important
    • Provide last-mile access
    • Deploy capacity overlay for broadband access at tower sites
    • Equip pre-mounted mobile RF sites with PTP 49600 links so that backhaul can be quickly deployed in emergencies

What is the data throughput of the PTP 49600 Bridge?

Depending on the environmental conditions surrounding the link and the channel size selected, the PTP 49600 will deliver throughput rates up to 125 Mbps. With selectable channel sizes and data rates, the system can be configured to the specific deployment needs:

  • 20 MHz Channel Size 125 Mbps
  • 10 MHz Channel Size 84 Mbps
  • 5 MHz Channel Size 41 Mbps

The base PTP 49600 hardware comes with a 5 MHz license and upgrades need to be purchased accordingly.
