Axis Sheds New Light on Video Surveillance

Axis Communications recently shared with us several solutions that they’ve added to their line of network cameras. From pocket-sized thermal cameras to panoramic viewers, Axis continues to drive innovations—this time really centered on shedding a little bit of light on your surveillance needs.

AXIS M3057-PLVE/AXIS M3058-PLVE Network Cameras are flat, vandal-resistant cameras that give you a 180° or 360° views in either day or nighttime conditions. AXIS’ OptimizedIR means this camera can “see” in the dark – so there’s no need for night-time lighting. Their WDR technology helps correct lighting when there are both dark and light areas in the same scene and Lightfinder technology enhances colorization when lighting is low. You can digitally pan, tilt and zoom in up to four areas simultaneously. The 3057 comes with a 6 MP sensor and the 3058 comes with a 12 MP sensor and a stereographic lens that gives you higher resolution around the outer portion of the view than in the center, to capture more details on the periphery of the camera’s view.

AXIS P1280-E/Axis P1290 Pinhole Thermal IP Cameras are perfect for discreet placement. These “pinhole” cameras deliver affordable video or thermal imaging in a small inconspicuous form factor. Mount behind a surface, in recesses, in walls or inside the bullet-shaped accessory that allows for angle adjustments. The P1280 and 1290 can also be used exclusively as a thermal imagining recorder to avoid compromising privacy in applications such as school and healthcare facilities. Thermal detection with advanced analytics deliver thermal imaging in low light or no light conditions--images can’t be hidden by bright lights, fog, or other visual impairments.

AXIS Q6125-LE PTZ Network Camera gives you both discretion and IR illumination in a 10 x 6.5 x 6.5” form factor. This HDTV 1080p camera with 30x optical zoon enables surveillance in total darkness for up to 656 feet or more Using both the OptimizedIR and WDR technology used in the M3057/58 cameras, these devices deliver superior discreet surveillance--via video and thermal imaging--for parks, alleys, harbors, parking lots and more. The AXIS Q6125-LE comes with AXIS Guard Suite analytics, including AXIS Fence Guard, AXIS Motion Guard and AXIS Loitering Guard for detecting motion, intrusion and loitering pre-installed in a single, affordable solution.

We should also revisit an exciting product that AXIS was great enough to preview to us last winter. The AXIS Radar Detection: D2050-VE. With a 164 foot range and a 120-degree horizonal coverage, this affordable solution detects motions and then directs any Axis Q series camera toward the motion. Read more about AXIS Radar here.

AXIS Companion Eye mini L is a fixed mini dome with a compact design for indoor use, and AXIS Companion Bullet mini LE is an outdoor-ready fixed, bullet-style camera. Both camera have built-in IR for surveillance in dark conditions, high-quality video in HDTV 1080p and 2 MP resolution and WDR technology to handle scenes with complex light conditions. These cameras are 70% smaller than the existing AXIS Companion cameras and are great for small business market. Both require AXIS Companion Video Management Software and Recorder.
